Description

The engine oil cooler regulates oil temperature by transferring heat to the engine coolant circuit, preventing oil degradation and premature engine wear. Common symptoms of a failing oil cooler include rising oil temperatures, coolant contamination with oil (or vice versa), oil warning lights, and visible coolant or oil leaks around the cooler housing. Recommended replacement interval: inspect at every major service or at the first sign of oil or coolant leaks in the vicinity of the cooler.
