Description

This genuine oil cooler is designed for EA888 series engines and maintains optimal oil temperature by transferring heat between the engine oil and coolant circuits. Common symptoms of a failing oil cooler include oil and coolant mixing, visible coolant loss with no external leak, elevated oil temperatures, or a mayonnaise-like residue on the oil filler cap. Inspect the cooler seals and the oil cooler housing gasket simultaneously during replacement, as these commonly fail together and are best addressed in a single service. Torque the oil cooler retaining bolts to approximately 10 Nm, and the oil filter housing bolts to manufacturer specification (refer to the relevant ELSA/ERWIN workshop manual for your specific engine code). Always replace the coolant circuit O-rings and sealing washers supplied with the unit, and refill and bleed the cooling system after installation.
