Description

These O-rings provide a high-pressure, heat-resistant seal for the various coolant pipes and connectors throughout the engine’s cooling circuit. They are designed to prevent the loss of coolant and maintain the necessary pressure within the system to avoid boiling.
Failure of these O-rings is almost always identified by “telltale” signs of dried coolant—usually a pink or white crusty residue—around the pipe junctions. You may also notice a sweet smell (antifreeze) after a drive or a low coolant warning on the dashboard. If the O-ring perishes completely, it can lead to a sudden “burst” leak, resulting in a rapid loss of pressure and immediate engine overheating risk.
